SVAA Calendar

All meetings, juries and returns are located in the Fuldner Lounge of the Juanita K. Hammons Hall  for the Performing Arts (unless announced otherwise), at the corner of Cherry and John Q. Hammons Parkway, Springfield, MO.

All receptions, unless announced otherwise, are on the 5th floor of the Juanita K. Hammons Hall.

Art work is delivered from 9 - 11 a.m. for all juries. Return  times are 9 - 11 a.m. All work not picked up on return dates is placed in the Board Room located  inside the Fuldner Lounge. See the staff at the Juanita K. Hammons to unlock the room.

Every Second Saturday meeting features a show and tell — members show off their recent works; a short membership meeting, and art program. The SVAA Board meets afterwards.

2008

• Sat, June 14 — 9:30 a.m. - Meet at B H Armstrong Studios, 2053 S
  Waverly, Suite A, for a program by Bill on how to set up and successfully maintain a professional artists studio, as well as tips on how to market and present your art.  Ed Schmidt will be your SVAA host, his phone number is 881-3670, if you have any questions.
• Sat, July 12 — 9:30 a.m. - Drawing session with a professional artist's model at Jennifer Wolken's studio 2020 North Broadway. The session will be for two hours, bring your own supplies.  Jennifer's phone number is 880-8769.
• Sat, Aug 9 — SVAA Picnic (Location: TBA)
• Sat, Sept. 13 — 9:30 a.m. - John Edward Cunningham, professional art restorer, will speak on how he began in the profession, the skills needed, and give examples of how he works on art restoration. - Fuldner Lounge
• October 11 — currently open for suggestions
• November 8 — 9:30 a.m. - Lisa Esposito, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Philosophy, Drury University, will give a talk with accompanying slides on how she became a self taught artist, how the methods of abstract expressionists, and literary, philosophical, and spiritual influences impact her work. Location to be announced
• December 13 — Christmas Party, Fuldner Lounge

Fall Benefit Show Requirements
SVAA members who wish to participate in the SVAA Fall Benefit Show for no fee must do three of the following:

1. Help hang a show
2. Present a program
3. Attend a minimum of three meetings
4. Work on a committee
5. Help at a juried show
6. Provide refreshments for a meeting
7. Serve on the board
8. Assist with the show reception
9. Help with the call list
10. Help with the newsletter
11. Be a greeter at a meeting
12. Distribute flyers for a show
13. Mail postcards
14. Any other activity that benefits SVAA
